The University of Cartagena is one of the oldest public institution of higher education in the country, founded in 1827. Since then, it has led the development of the Colombian Caribbean and changed the lives of hundreds of generations. Its quality processes have been accredited nationally by the CNA (National Committee of Accreditation) and internationally by the UDUAL organization (Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean). Through its institutional strategy plan "Towards a Transformative and Humanist University, 2022–2026,, it will continue positioning itself as the leading educational institution in the Great Caribbean region.
