Project Experience
We have performed Substation, P&C, Civil/ Structural, Transmission lines, and Relay Settings work for clients throughout the US such as FPL, Southern Company, PPL, Duke, Avangrid, MEAG, Georgia Transmission and SunEnergy. Our engineers have done extensive work at every voltage level from 500kV down to 4kV. We have overhauled ancient substations with raster drawings to modern standards requiring dozens of new panels while replacing more than half of the equipment in the yard.
We’ve also done repetitive program work for simple projects that require efficient execution, like 200 CCVT replacements across 27 different substations and 200 lightning shielding studies. We also provide full design services for transmission & distribution lines with voltage ranging from 69 kV through 500kV. We have performed transmission line design solutions with all structure types: lattice tower, tubular steel, concrete, laminated, and wood poles.
HMV has wide experience in the design of conventional AIS substations, GIS substations and FACTS/SVC/HVDC systems in various climates and operating conditions that range from seacoast, hurricane-prone areas in Florida, seismic-prone areas in California, to areas in the Northeast with cold-weather, icy conditions. We have also implemented 61850 solutions in hundreds of transmissions and distribution substation projects just in the last 10 years and are one of the leaders in the consulting industry in the design and deployment of Digital Substation solutions.
